Excise scam: Remand of touts extended
Patiala, September 7
The Civil Court (Junior Division) today extended the police remand of Sanjeev Kumar and Nalini Chopra, the two alleged touts working in connivance with the excise department, till tomorrow. The two were nabbed after the Vigilance Bureau unearthed a nexus between them and a few senior officials of the excise department.

The Punjab government today notified the names of chairmen of district grievances redressal committees by repealing the earlier notification. According to the new notification, Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal will be the chairman of district grievances redressal committee of Ludhiana.
