Amritsar to Anandpur Sahib rail link proposed

The two main holy towns of Punjab, Amritsar and Anandpur Sahib, will be linked directly by rail in the near future, Lok Sabha Deputy Speaker Charanjit Singh Atwal announced here yesterday.
Giving details to reporters here, Atwal said a proposal had been
discussed with Railway Board chairman for the construction of a
Rs 532-crore railway link between Amritsar and Anandpur Sahib by
laying a 45-km railway line between Jejon and Anandpur Sahib via
Garhshankar.
