According to sources close to the Congress president, Mrs Sonia Gandhi, reports
coming from Punjab show much improvement for the Congress during the past three
months and the organisation is geared up for the ensuing elections to the Punjab
Vidhan Sabha.
CM gave undue benefits to Kewal Dhillon: Sukhbir
Chandigarh, December 17
The general secretary of the Shiromani Akali Dal, Mr Sukhbir Singh Badal, today alleged that the Punjab Chief Minister, Capt Amarinder Singh, passed on undue benefits to senior Congress leader and close friend, Mr Kewal Dhillon, in approving a series of mega projects for the latter’s company, Messrs Silicon Construction.
Triangular contest in Delhi gurdwara committee elections

There will be a triangular fight in the elections of the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee
in New Delhi. The main parties in the contest will be the Shiromani Akali
Dal headed by Mr Parkash Singh Badal, the Delhi Shiromani Akali Dal headed by Mr Paramjit Singh Sarna and a joint front set up by Bhai Ranjit Singh, Mr Manjit Singh and others.
