LMVs allowed to move; landslides partially removed
Jammu, December 9 However, passenger buses and trucks were not allowed to proceed with the debris lying at several places between Ramban and Banihal. Hundreds of tourists and passengers were stranded. Reports said more than 100 buses and trucks were stranded between Makarkot and Ramban. About 65 vehicles were standing at Panthal. The BRO personnel have deployed heavy equipment for clearing the landslides, but the overcast sky is worrying the authorities. The trucks and buses may be allowed to go only after the road is cleared. A large number of trucks laden with rations, essential supplies, cooking gas and petroleum products are stranded en route, thereby causing scarcity, particularly in the valley.
