Rainfall: Rain/snow has occurred at many places in Uttaranchal and at a few places in Himachal Pradesh. Rain/thundershowers have occurred at many places in west Uttar Pradesh, at a few places in east Uttar Pradesh and at isolated places in Haryana and Punjab. Weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region. The chief amounts of rainfall in cm. are: East Uttar Pradesh: Lucknow 3, West Uttar Pradesh: Sarsawa 9 and Uttaranchal: Mukteshwar

Temperature: Past 24 hours change: The maximum temperatures fell appreciably in Haryana and Uttaranchal, fell in Punjab, rose in Jammu and Kashmir and changed little elsewhere. Departure: They were markedly below normal in Haryana, Punjab and Uttaranchal, below normal in Himachal Pradesh and west Rajasthan and normal in the rest of the region. The highest temperature in the region was 34.4C recorded at Jhansi (Uttar Pradesh).

Past 24 hours change: The minimum temperatures fell appreciably in Haryana and Uttaranchal, fell in Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and west Uttar Pradesh and changed little elsewhere. Departure: They were appreciably below normal in Uttaranchal, above normal in Rajasthan and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 12°C recorded at Chandigarh.

Forecast valid until the morning of October 25: Rain/snow is likely at a few places in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttaranchal, Rain/thundershowers are likely at a few places in Uttar Pradesh and at isolated places in the rest of the region.

29°C and 17°C, respectively.
