Rainfall: Rain/snow has occurred at isolated places in Jammu and Kashmir and Uttaranchal. Rain/thundershowers have occurred at isolated places in Haryana and west Uttar Pradesh. Weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region. Bareilly (Uttar Pradesh) has recorded 2 cm of rainfall.

Temperature: Past 24 hours change: The maximum temperatures changed little.

Departure: This was appreciably above normal in east Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh, above normal in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, west Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal and normal in the rest of the region. The highest temperature in the region was 39.6°C recorded at Nal (Rajasthan).

Past 24 hours change: The minimum temperatures rose in Haryana, fell in west Uttar Pradesh and changed little elsewhere.

Departure: This was markedly above normal in east Rajasthan, appreciably above normal in Haryana and west Rajasthan, above normal in Punjab and Uttar Pradesh and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 16.7°C recorded at Amritsar (Punjab).

Forecast valid until the morning of October 21: Rain/snow will occur at many places in Uttaranchal and at a few places in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir. Rain/thundershowers will occur at many places in Uttar Pradesh, at a few places in Haryana and Punjab and at isolated places in north Rajasthan. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region. Isolated thunder squalls are likely in Uttar Pradesh.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of October 21: Generally cloudy sky with possibility of one or two spells of rain/thundershowers in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures will be around 30°C and 22°C respectively.
