They were markedly above normal in east Rajasthan, appreciably above normal in Jammu and Kashmir and west Rajasthan, above normal in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal and normal in the rest of the region. The highest temperature in the region was 41°C recorded at Sriganganagar (Rajasthan).

The minimum temperatures fell in Uttaranchal and changed little elsewhere. Departure: They were above normal in Haryana, Rajasthan and west Uttar Pradesh and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 18.8°C recorded at Amritsar (Punjab).
