Rs 991 crore project for providing safe drinking water

The Punjab Government has set up a municipal development fund of Rs 991 crore to finance a comprehensive project for the supply of safe drinking water to 117 towns in Punjab and provide sewerage facilities to another 37 towns.
Thousands immerse Sanjhi in canal

Oblivious to the pollution caused by the immersion of undesirable components in the water, thousands of devotees from the town and surrounding villages converged on the banks of the Sirhind canal to immerse Sanjhi that had been worshiped for the past 10 days at their respective houses.
