J&K sex scandal accused shifted to Burail Jail

Thirteen accused in the infamous Jammu and Kashmir sex scandal were today shifted to the high security Burail Jail here. They are to be produced before the District and Sessions Judge here on September 25.

Passengers protest as trains run late
Chandigarh, September 22
Chaos prevailed at the Chandigarh railway station today evening when agitated passengers staged a protest against the delay in the departure of the 2UC Chandigarh-Ambala daily passenger train. The incident occurred at about 7 pm and lasted about an hour.
The passengers alleged that the train was scheduled for departure at 6.30 pm.
However, there was no sign of the train till 8 pm.

Fire at petrol pump brought under control

A major tragedy was averted today when a fire at the electricity junction at Hindustan Petroleum petrol pump in Sector 15 was brought under control. The incident occurred at about 4: 30 pm. Two fire tenders were rushed to the spot alongwith a DCP tender and one motorcycle with AFT.
Indo-Kazakh team scales Mount Nun

A joint Indo-Kazakhstan Army mountaineering expedition scaled the 21,400 foot-high Mount Nun in the Zanskar region of Jammu and Kashmir two days ago. Located 80 km from Kargil, this is one of the highest peaks in the Western Himalayas.
Police trekking expedition

A team of the Punjab Police Adventure Sports Club (PPASC) will organise a trekking expedition to the Spiti valley in memory of the founder president of the club, the late Dr P.M. Das, an ADGP rank officer, who along with two others perished in a mountaineering expedition in Sikkim on September 24 last year.
