Badal's promise to build college not kept

The proposal to build a government college at Ahmedgarh, the foundation stone for which was laid in 1979 by Mr Parkash Singh Badal, who was the Chief Minister at that time, seems to have been totally forgotten by the authorities.

Abandoned girls re-united with father

It was an emotional reunion of the two abandoned sisters with their father at Jalalabad village near Dharamkot late last night when a team of the Sidhwan Bet police handed over the two girls to their father and grandmother.

PAU kisan mela arrangements reviewed
Ludhiana, September 16
Punjab minister Jagmohan Singh Kang today met Vice-Chancellor K.S.Aulakh and discussed arrangements for the kisan mela at the PAU, scheduled to be held on September 21, 22. The two worked out the modalities for the mela and decided to make it the foundation of a state function to highlight that agriculture and culture of Punjab are inseparable and mirror the true heritage of Punjabis.

Contests on crops for farmers
The Director of Extension Education, Dr S.S.Gill, said there would be a farm produce competition in vegetables, fruits, floriculture and field crops. The farmers who wished to participate in this interesting competition should submit only the university-recommended and approved varieties under these four categories on the first day September 21 till 12.30 p.m.
