He had been associated with the board, headed by the state’s Governor, as one of its members since it had been constituted in 2001.

The Tamil Nadu police made a major breakthrough about the arms haul meant for Maoists seized in Andhra Pradesh and arrested seven persons while it dispatched a team to the neighbouring state to arrest the kingpin. The arms included rockets and launchers consigned to the Maoists in trucks from the state capital of Tamil Nadu.
