Conditions are favourable for advance of southwest Monsoon into some parts of south Rajasthan and east Uttar Pradesh during the next 48 hours.

Rainfall: Rain/thundershowers have occurred at a few places in Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal and at isolated places in the rest of the region. The chief amounts of rainfall in cm are; Haryana: Ambala and Chandigarh 1 each, Punjab: Patiala 2 and Amritsar 1, East Rajasthan: Dholpur 3 and Udaipur A.P. 2, East Uttar Pradesh: Chhatnag 9, Ballia 5, gorakhpur and Mirzapur 4 each and Mukhlishpur and Shardanagar 1 each, West Uttar Pradesh: Moradabad 7 and Hindon 2 and Uttaranchal: Banbasa 4, Srinagar 3 and Kalagarh 1.

Temperatures: Past 24 hours change: The maximum temperatures fell in west Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal and changed little elsewhere. Departure: This was markedly above normal in west Rajasthan, appreciably above normal in east Rajasthan, above normal in Jammu and Kashmir and normal in the rest of the region. The highest temperature in the region was 45.7°C recorded at Jaisalmer (Rajasthan).

Forecast valid until the morning of June 27: Rain/thundershowers will occur at many places in Himachal Pradesh and Uttaranchal, at a few places in Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, east Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh and at isolated places in west Rajasthan. Isolated thunder-squalls are likely in Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of June 27: Partly cloudy sky with possibility of rain/thundershowers accompanied with squall in some areas. The maximum temperature will be around 35°C.
