Chandigarh take first innings lead
Chandigarh, June 20 Chandigarh won the toss and invited Panchkula to bat first. Mandeep Singla and Dipanshu became victims of Chandigarh medium pacer Amit Saini and Angad Singh when the scoreboard read 41 for two after 14 overs. At this stage, Shankar Nair and Kapil Pandey did the rescue act with a partnership of 98 runs for the fourth wicket. Shankar Nair contributed 69 runs in his knock consisting 11 fours. Karan Malik, too, contributed valuable 20 runs towards the end as the Panchkula innings folded up for 224 in 59.4 overs. In reply, Chandigarh, too, did not have a good start. At a stage, when the score read 20 for 2 , Gaurav Chhabra took the ship out of trouble and scored a marathon innings of 143 from 150 balls (18X4s and 4X6s). Rohit Singh giving him company took the score to 180 before departing. Both were involved in huge 160 runs partnership which ensured the first innings lead for Chandigarh.
