Mandi Gobindgarh
DEPUTATION: A deputation of Railway Bridge Sangarsh Committee met the council chief, Mr Jagmeet Singh Sahota, in his office and apprised him of the difficulties faced by the people and students of this town for want of flyover bridges on the national highway and railway track. The deputation was led by its chief, Harpal Singh Jassar. Other members included vice-president Ameer Dhawan, general secretary Suneel Suraj, secretary Balwinder Singh, coordinator Surjeet Singh Marjara and other executive members. 

IDENTITY CARDS: After taking over the charge, Mr Balwant Singh, DSP, Amloh, appealed to the mediapersons at a meeting here on Sunday to extend cooperation to control crime. In the industrial town of Mandi Gobindgarh, mostly migrant labourers are involved in the crime. To detect the crime, identity cards of migrant labourers would soon be prepared which will contain full particulars, including their home address.

Nurpur
Employees suspended
: Following preliminary inquiry, Himachal Pradesh Corporation on Friday suspended its two employees in connection with the seizure of 49 stollen tins of resin in a raid conducted by officials of the Nurpur forest division. A jeep (HP 54-3084), loaded with 49 tins of resin, was intercepted at Dahkulara on June 5. The occupants left the vehicle and fled. The seized tins bore markings of state Forest Corporation. The police could not arrest the accused and the owner of the impounded jeep so far.

NURPUR
Man ends life
: Thirtytwo-year-old Sanjiv Kumar
of Dasolli village in this subdivision was fed up with his unemployment. Married seven years ago, he was unable to shoulder the responsibility of his family without any source of earning. Following frustration of unemployment he ended his life on Friday night. According to the police, the deceased slept in a separate room at night and set himself on fire. The father of the deceased broke open the door of the room. He was referred to the Zonal Hospital, Dharamsala, with 80 per cent burns. On the way he succumbed to injuries.

Reckong Peo
Encroachments removed
: The district administration of Kinnaur under the provisions of the Special Area Development Authority (SADA) has removed all encroachments along the roadside from the main market of Reckong Peo. The administration has provided to these petty traders an alternate place to carry out their business. 

Sundernagar
Two girls missing
: Two teenaged girls from different localities of Sundernagar town have been missing for the past many days. The family members of these girls have reported the matter to the police which has recorded a DDR.
