Hobby classes conclude

Mandi Gobindgarh, June 18
Three-week hobby classes of music, dance, games, painting, art and craft concluded at Gobindgarh Public School, Mandi Gobindgarh. More than 300 students from nursery to Class XII participated.

These hobby classes were organised under the directions of Mr O.P. Goyal, president, MGESW Trust and Mr Bahadur Singh, Principal, Gobindgarh Public School. Children of the primary section learnt the art of painting, paper folding, cutting, passing, clay modelling, making of greeting cards while senior students learnt glass painting, making of soft toys etc. Children learnt classical dances on filmatics, bhangra and giddha.

A theatre workshop was organised by Mr Pran Sabharwal and Mrs Sunita Sabharwal.

Summer camp at school

Ludhiana, June18
A summer camp is being held at Kiddies Paradise School here in which children from various schools along with tiny tots are being given training in judo-karate, yoga, dance and music classes etc.

The karate classes are being given by Ashok Kheever. School Director Randhir Singh appreciated the eagerness of the children and encouraged them to maintain their health. OC

City boy becomes ‘King of Comedy’ on MH1

Ludhiana, June 18
Jaswant, a city-based mimicry artist has won the ‘King of Comedy’ title on Hansde Hasande Raho programme on MH 1 channel in New Delhi. The programme was started in February on MH1 channel.

Talking to Ludhiana Tribune, Jaswant said the grand finale was held last evening. He said the auditions were held in Delhi in January. More than 750 persons had turned up for auditions out of which 48 got selected.

“The programme was just like Laughter Challenge. Mimicry artists from all over Punjab had turned up in the show. It was not an easy competition. For five months, I had to practice for two-three hours daily”, claimed Mr Jaswant.

A graduate from SCD Government College here, Jaswant took training in mimicry and histrionics from Chacha Raunki Ram. “I always grabbed prizes in Panjab University and GND varsity youth festivals. I have also performed at many places in Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Delhi and J&K. This title has got me an entry into the media”, said Jaswant.
