Rainfall: Rain/thundershowers have occurred at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh, west Rajasthan and east Uttar Pradesh. Weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region. The chief amounts of rainfall in cm are: west Rajasthan: Bikaner 1 and east Uttar Pradesh: Lucknow AP 1.

Temperatures: Past 24 hours change: The maximum temperatures rose in Jammu and Kashmir, fell appreciably in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Punjab, fell in Rajasthan, west Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal and changed little elsewhere.

Departure: This was appreciably above normal in east Uttar Pradesh, above normal in Uttaranchal, appreciably below normal in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab and west Rajasthan and normal in the rest of the region. The highest temperature in the region was 44.2°C recorded at Varanasi AP (Uttar Pradesh).

Forecast valid until the morning of June 16, 2006: Rain/thundershowers are likely at a few places in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttaranchal and at isolated places in Punjab and east Uttar Pradesh. Isolated dust-storm/thunderstorm is likely in Haryana, Rajasthan and west Uttar Pradesh.
