Inservice course for KV teachers
Chandigarh, June 3 The course was inaugurated by Mr S.S. Sehrawat, Assistant Commissioner, Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, Chandigarh
Region. The venue school principal, Mrs Daljit Kaur, welcomed Mr Sehrawat. The Course Director, Mr J.P. Gupta, highlighted the importance of the course which he said would help improve the knowledge of the teachers. The main focus was on a need-based training programme. He spoke on innovative ideas in the field of chemistry as also in science and technology. Mr Sehrawat asked the teachers to be prepared to shoulder the responsibilities of the principal from time to time. He asked the teachers to learn the maximum from the course. The Associate course director, Mr N.K. Bhardwaj, Principal, KV, Jullanpur, wished a comfortable stay to the teachers attending the course. |
Students undergo internship programme
Chandigarh, June 3 He further stated that the placement of students with numerous companies was a powerful indicator of the performance of both the faculty and the students. Addressing the corporate executives, faculty members and student interns Mr Ramesh Krishnan, Associate Dean, said ICFAI National College, a constituent unit of the ICFAI, took off in 2003 with seven centres in Andhra Pradesh. This model of starting business schools in interior districts was primarily aimed at providing quality management education in the semi-urban areas. Mr Roopam Gupta, Regional Head, focused on student interns who are undergoing for their 16-week training in companies like Bajaj Allianz, ICICI Prudential, ING-Vysya, Airtel and others at INC-Chandigarh and INC-Ludhiana. This summer internship program was designed to give real-life corporate environment to the interns to shape them into professional executives and leaders. |

New bar body chief
Panchkula, June 3 In the elections, 184 votes were polled in favour of Mr Gupta while Mr Quadian got 149. The third candidate for the president’s post, Mr R S Chauhan, lagged behind the two and could get only 16 votes only. In a direct competition for the post of the vice-president, Mr Suresh Prashar defeated Mr Ashwani Kumar Sharma. Mr Prashar got 184 votes and defeated Mr Sharma with a margin of 22 votes. Mr Jagpal Singh claimed the post of General Secretary by defeating his rival, Mr Satyawan Alhawat by 182 votes. The elections were held for the posts of president, vice president and general secretary while the Joint Secretary, Treasurer and seven members of the executive committee have already been elected unopposed, claimed chief election officer Mr M G Sharma. He disclosed that out of 377 members of the Panchkula Bar Association only 350 participated in the elections. |
