Thermal units’ closure worsens power crisis

CBI raids office, house of Excise official

A 25-member team of the CBI today raided the residence and office of Assistant Commissioner Central Excise V.M. Verma today.

Rs 4.4 lakh robbed from SBI branch

Three armed robbers today struck at the State Bank of India branch at Bam village located on Muktsar-Abohar road, 15 km from here, and fled with Rs 4.4 lakh after injuring the cashier with a gunshot.

Five held for cheating

2,141 teachers promoted
Chandigarh, April 25
The Punjab Government today promoted 2,141 ETT and JBT teachers to the master cadre which includes 214 teachers of mathematics, 412 of science, 271 of Punjabi, 303 of Hindi and 881 of social studies, a press note issued by the government said.
