Seminar week at college ends

Ludhiana, April 2
The seminar series which started on March 24 at GHG Khalsa College, Gurusar Sadhar, ended here two days ago.

The series had been conducted department-wise under the auspices of the Director of the College, Mr Manjit Singh Khattra. Dr Sushil Kaur, coordinator of the seminars said teachers of different streams presented their papers.

A total of 15 papers were read/presented during these days, followed by a good debate.

The teachers who presented their papers on first day were on the topic of “Women Empowerment” were Prof Surinderpal Kaur Sidhu, Dr Sushil Kaur, Prof Anoop Kaur, Prof Rupinder Singh and Prof Navdeep Kaur.

On the second day, Prof Jatinder Singh introduced the faculty members about computer and its significance. On the third day, teachers from the Science Deptartment made others aware of tissue culture, blood groups and immunity system. These papers were presented by Prof Harpreet Kaur Khurana, Prof Gurpreet Kaur and Dr Swaranjeet Singh Deol.

On the last day, Punjabi Department under the guidance of Prof Rajdev Kaur conducted seminars on “Punjab unrest during 1978-1991,” “Modern Pop Punjabi Culture” and on “Gurbani.” Prof Gurmeet Singh, Prof Harpreet Singh and Prof Harparkash Singh spoke on the occasion.

Speaking at the end of seminar series, Mr Khattra emphasized that these seminars helped in developing self-confidence and work culture.

The Principal, Mr Surinder Singh Pandher applauded the efforts of the faculty members.

The former Vice-Chairperson of Minority Commission, Prof Bawa Singh, gave a scholarly view about seminars.

The stage was conducted by Prof G S Mastana and Dr Sushil Kaur, Deptartment of Library.

Workshop ends

Ludhiana, April 2
A ten-day workshop for kids and mothers concluded here today at Legends Events Private Limited. Ms Amrita Gakhar, principal, Tagore Public School was the chief guest. About 48 students participated in the workshop. Children learnt how to converse in English, surfing the Net and painting and designing. Ms Herman anchored the show.
