Blind murder case solved, 6 arrested
Machhiwara, April 1
The Machhiwara police today claimed to have solved the blind murder case of an old woman Santosh Rani of the local Krishna Puri Mohalla by apprehending Sooraj Sharma, a neighbour of the deceased, along with his five associates.

Sewage overflows in Transport Nagar

Streets in Transport Nagar, falling in the Zone-B of the local Municipal Corporation, have been overflowing with sewage. Shopkeepers and traders in the area have threatened that they would come out on the streets to protest against the problem which is persisting for the past 10 days.

Villagers pool resources, manpower to build bridge
Kanya Hussaini (Jagraon), April 1
Undaunted spirits of residents of nearly 25 villages along the Sutlej in Jagraon subdivision has led them to construct a bridge over the Jassowal drain. The residents had been demanding the construction of the bridge ever since the drain was constructed in 1954.

Doctors attend homoeopathy workshop
