Rain/snow has occurred at many places in Himachal Pradesh and Uttaranchal and at isolated places in Jammu and Kashmir. Rain/thundershowers occurred at many places in east Uttar Pradesh, at a few places in Haryana, Punjab and west Uttar Pradesh and at isolated places in west Rajasthan. Weather was dry in east Rajasthan. The chief amounts of rainfall in cm are: Haryana: Chandigarh 5 and Naraingarh 1, Himachal Pradesh: Shimla 2, Jammu and Kashmir: Katra 1, East Uttar Pradesh: Gorakhpur 4 and Varanasi A.P. 1 and Uttaranchal: Dehradun and Mukteshwar 2 each.

Temperatures: Past 24 hours change: The maximum temperatures rose markedly in east Uttar Pradesh, rose appreciably in west Rajasthan, rose in Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, east Rajasthan and west Uttar Pradesh, fell in Himachal Pradesh and change little elsewhere. Departure: This was appreciably above normal in Jammu and Kashmir, markedly below normal in Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal, appreciably below normal in Punjab and below normal in Himachal Pradesh. The highest temperature in the region was 29°C recorded at Barmer (Rajasthan).

Past 24 hours change: The minimum temperatures changed little.

Departure: This was normal over the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 10°C recorded at Gorakhpur (Uttar Pradesh).

Forecast valid until the morning of March 14: Rain/snow will occur at many places in Uttaranchal and at a few places in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir. Rain/thundershowers will occur at many places in east Uttar Pradesh, at a few places in west Uttar Pradesh and at isolated places in the rest of the region. Isolated hailstorms/thundersqualls are likely in Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of March 14: Partly cloudy sky. Mist/shallow fog in the morning. The maximum and minimum temperatures will be around 24°C and 13°C respectively.
