Mangal Dhillon launches drive against drug abuse
Chandigarh, January 15
With a view to tackle drug menace, celebrated film personality Mangal Dhillon is on a unique mission these days. He plans to screen his much-acclaimed films, including “Khalsa”, “A Day at the Golden Temple”, “Prakash Sri Guru Granth Sahib” and “The inseparable — A Sikh and his Turban” at prominent gurdwaras in the region.

Over 23,000 children immunised
Mohali, January 15
As many as 11551 children in the below five were immunized against polio as part of the mop-up campaign in Mohali while another 2341 children were immunised in Kharar city today as part of the mop up pulse polio campaign carried out through Ropar.
Dr Parminder Singh, nodal officer in charge of the campaign in rural Kharar, said as many as 23150 children were immunised in the villages in Kharar.

New eye care facility
Chandigarh, January 15
Grewal Eye Institute, Sector 9, today, added another facility to its eye care institute, by offering Oculus Pentacam Eye Scanner to the patients. A symposium for practising ophthalmologists of the region on the applications of the Oculus Pentacam Scanner in refractive surgery was also organized.
