Chandigarh has been selected as one of the cities under the pilot project of the ‘National Urban Renewal Mission’ for harvesting of sewage effluent as tertiary treated water for irrigation purposes.

Custodial death: 3 cops suspended
Derabassi, January 5
Even as three Government Railway Police personnel were today suspended for their alleged involvement in the custodial death of Gurmail Singh, a resident Kakrali village, at Rajpura yesterday, a wave of anger and resentment prevails among the residents.

A house belonging to an OSD of the SAD President Parkash Singh Badal, which had been sealed by the Punjab Vigilance Bureau, was today found ransacked with one of its rooms gutted.
