Rainfall: Rain/snow has occurred at a few places in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir and at isolated places in Uttaranchal. Weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region. The chief amounts of precipitation in cm. are: Himachal Pradesh: Kahu and Kasol 1 each and Jammu and Kashmir: Quazigund 1.

Temperatures: Past 24 hours’ change: The minimum temperatures fell markedly in Haryana, fell appreciably in Punjab, west Rajasthan and west Uttar Pradesh, fell in Jammu and Kashmir and east Rajasthan, rose in east Uttar Pradesh and changed little elsewhere. Departure: They were appreciably below normal in west Rajasthan, above normal in Himachal Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 0.3°C recorded at Churu (Rajasthan).

Forecast valid until the morning of 6th January 2006: Rain/snow is likely at a few places in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir and at isolated places in Uttaranchal. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region.
