Rainfall: Rain/snow has occurred at isolated places in Jammu and Kashmir. Weather was dry in the rest of the region. Kupwara (Jammu and Kashmir) has recorded 1 cm of precipitation.

Temperatures: Past 24 hours change: The maximum temperatures changed a little. Departure: This was appreciably above normal in west Rajasthan, above normal in Himachal Pradesh, east Rajasthan, west Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal and normal in the rest of the region. The highest temperature in the region was 39.7°C recorded at Barmer (Rajasthan).

Past 24 hours change: The minimum temperatures changed a little. Departure: This was appreciably above normal in west Rajasthan and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 15.7°C recorded at Ludhiana (Punjab).

Forecast valid until the morning of October 18: Rain/snow will occur at many places in Jammu and Kashmir, at a few places in Himachal Pradesh and at isolated places in Uttaranchal. Isolated rain/thundershowers are likely in Punjab. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region.
