Rainfall: Rain/thundershowers have occurred at many places in East Uttar Pradesh, at a few places in West Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal and at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab. Weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region. The chief amounts of rainfall in cm. are: East Uttar Pradesh: Palliakalan 8, Ghazipur 6, Elginbridge 5, Bani, Khadda, Neemsar and Phaphamau 4 each, Ayodhya 3, Mohana 2 and Allahabad, Basti and Hanumansetu 1 each, West Uttar Pradesh: Jhansi 3, Auraiya 2 and Fatehgarh 1 and Uttaranchal: Haripur 9, Banbasa 4, Uttarkashi 3 and Bosan and Dehradun 2 each.

Forecast valid until the morning of September 8: Rain/thundershowers will occur at many places in Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal, at a few places in Haryana and Punjab and at isolated places in Jammu and Kashmir and east Rajasthan. Weather will be mainly dry in west Rajasthan.

Heavy rainfall warning: Isolated heavy rain is likely in east Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal during the next 48 hours.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of September 8: Partly cloudy sky with possibility of light rain/thundershowers in some areas.
