Rainfall: Rain/thundershowers have occurred at many places in Himachal Pradesh and at isolated places in Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, east Rajasthan, east Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal. Weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region. The chief amounts of rainfall in cm. are: Haryana: Ambala 1, Himachal Pradesh: Kasol and Pandoh 2 each and Khairi, Kasauli, Solangnala and Sunibhaji 1 each, Jammu and Kashmir: Bhoond 3, Punjab: Batala 3 and Nangal 1, east Rajasthan: Kushalgarh and Shergarh 1 each and east Uttar Pradesh: Palliakalllan 2 and Ayodhya 1.

Forecast valid until the morning of August 31: Rain/thundershowers are likely at a few places in Himachal Pradesh and Uttaranchal and at isolated places in Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, east Rajasthan and east Uttar Pradesh. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region.
