Rainfall: Rain/thundershowers have occurred at many places in Jammu and Kashmir, at a few places in Himachal Pradesh and Punjab and at isolated places in east Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal. Weather was dry in the rest of the region. The chief amounts of rainfall in cm are: Himachal Pradesh: Sujanpurtira 2 and Nadaun and Pandoh 1 each; Jammu and Kashmir: Patti 2 and Basoli 1; Punjab: Madhopur and Ranjitsagar Dam 1 each; and Uttaranchal: Dehra Dun 7 and Bausan 2.

Forecast valid until the morning of August 29: Rain/thundershowers will occur at many places in Jammu and Kashmir and at a few places in Himachal Pradesh and Uttaranchal. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region.
