Rainfall: Rain/thundershowers have occurred at most places in Himachal Pradesh, East Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal, at many places in Jammu and Kashmir and West Uttar Pradesh and at a few places in Haryana, Punjab and east Rajasthan. Weather was mainly dry in west Rajasthan. The chief amounts of rainfall in cm. are: Haryana: Kalka 2 and Naraingarh 1; Himachal Pradesh: Nadaun 6, Bharwain and Chauraha 5 each, Ghamroor 4, Berthin, Nahan and Nagrotasurian 3 each, Guler 2 and Kasauli, Paonta and Shimla 1 each; Jammu and Kashmir: Katra 14, Bhoond and Patti 9 each, Basoli 8, Jammu 3 and Banihal 1; Punjab: Ranjitsagar dam and Shahpurkandi 13 each, Madhopur 6, Patiala 3 and Tibri 1; East Rajasthan: Paota 4, Mangrol, Sawai Madhopur and Srimadhopur 3 each, Kishangarhwas, Pahari, Thanagaji and Viratnaar 2 each and Gangapur 1; East Uttar Pradesh: Bansi and Chillaghat 4 each, Gorakhpur, Katerniaghat, Raebareilly and Varanasi AP 3 each, Ayodhya, Chandradeepghat, Kakrahi and Mirzapur 2 each and Bahraich, Mukhlishpur and Regoli 1 each; East Uttar Pradesh: Agra and Sarsawa 1 each; and Uttaranchal: Rishikesh 18, Dehradun, Haripur, Hardwar, Kalagarh and Uttarkashi 5 each, Bausan 2 and Mukteshwar and Rudraprayag 1 each.

Forecast valid until the morning of August 18: Rain/thundershowers will occur at many places in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu division of Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal, at a few places in Kashmir division of Jammu and Kashmir and East Rajasthan and at isolated places in West Rajasthan.

Heavy rainfall warning: Isolated heavy rain is likely in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu division of Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal during the next 48 hours.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of August 18: Generally cloudy sky with rain/thundershowers, likely heavy in some areas. Farmers’ weather bulletin for Delhi forecast valid until the morning of August 18: Light to moderate rain will occur at many places.

Outlook for the subsequent two days: No large change.
