Industrialists in the township have resented the allowing of residential use of industrial plots only in one pocket of the industrial area in Mohali and not in the entire industrial belt.

Residents of Sectors 66, 67, 68 and 69 here went without electricity for over 12 hours last night. Residents of Sector 68 added that they did not have any water also, as the tubewell that supplies drinking water to houses in the sector did not function due to the power breakdown.

2 sustain burns in LPG fire
Zirakpur, August 1
Two persons, including a migrant labourer, sustained serious burn injuries when they were pilfering liquid petroleum gas (LPG) from some cylinders. The leaked gas then caught fire on Sunday morning, injuring the two.

Three held for kidnap, rape

The police has arrested three persons, including two women, on the charge of kidnap and rape. Among those arrested are Rahul, a resident of a slum colony near Jagatpura village, and two women, one of them living in Phase IX and the other in Kumbra village.
