College students secure merit positions

Khanna, July 5
Students of AS College, here have excelled in the university results declared recently, proving their meritorious position. Navjeet Kaur of MA I (History) has stood second in Panjab University Chandigarh, and first in the district (rural). Amandeep Singh has stood third in Panjab University in MA (I) history.

Ridhi Gupta of B Com II and Priyanka Malhotra of B Com III stood first in the Ludhiana district (rural) respectively in their classes. Gaurav Sharma of B Com I also stood first in Ludhiana district (rural). Sukhjeet Kaur of B Sc (III) stood first in Ludhiana district (rural) and Kuldeep Kaur of B Sc II stood second in Ludhiana district (rural).

The Principal of the college, Dr R.S. Jhanji, said on the second day of the admission today, students showed keen interest in admission to various streams as arts commerce, computers and post-graduate classes. He said the college had been awarded A Plus by the NAAC, Banglore.

Excellent results

Ludhiana, July 5
With the declarations of results of MA-I (History) of Panjab University, Guru Nanak Girls College has once again established its premier position as one of the leading colleges of the city.

The college boasts of 100 per cent pass percentage with five university positions in top 10 positions of the university. Six students got first division. College Principal Dr (Ms) Charanjit Mahal congratulated the students and staff on the stupendous success.

Amanpreet Kaur stood fourth in the university by scoring 252 marks, Harinder Kaur stood fifth, Rupinder Kaur bagged sixth position while Amarjit Kaur and Vandana Dhir bagged seventh and eighth positions, respectively, in the university.

GGN Khalsa College BSc students excel: Students of BSc classes brought laurels to GGN Khalsa College. Rahul Arora from BSc II year stood first among boys in Ludhiana district and bagged ninth position in the university by scoring 85.8 per cent. In BSc III year three students namely Jaswinder, Deepak Dubey and Anoop Mishra scored more than 80 per cent marks while 27 students bagged Ist division out of 53 students.

Special scholarships: On the occasion of third anniversary of Ivanna Institute of Fashion Technology and Hotel Management, the institute has announced special scholarships for the students of fashion technology, hotel management and tourism streams.

Ivanna institute affiliated to PTU, Jalandhar, offers professional diploma, BSc degree, PG diploma and MSc degree in fashion technology, hotel management and tourism.

The institute will organise a scholarship test on July 17 through which two students of undergraduate programmes and one of postgraduate programme will be awarded the scholarships.

College girls shine in varsity exam

Machhiwara, July 5
Girls of National College for Women, Machhiwara have performed extremely well in the recently declared results of BA II and BA III held by Panjab University, Chandigarh.

Talking to mediapersons, the Director of the college Ms Rekha Wadhera, informed that Rajni Mittal topped in the college in BA III by securing 1647 out of 2400 marks. The overall pass percentage in BA III is 100 per cent.

In BA II, Babita Rani stood first by securing 1120 out of 1600 marks, Shikha Rani got the second rank by securing 1117 out of 1600 marks and Reena Rani got the third position by securing 1103 marks.

Skin care workshop

Kaya Skin Clinc held an innovative skin care workshop at their centre today. Dr Anupma Gupta, Kaya Dermatologist, revealed the secrets of smooth silky skin. She highlighted laser hair removal technique and also talked about an approved technique specially customised to Indian skin.

The method prevented the hair regeneration process and rendered ineffective the ability of hair follicle to produce new hair. Dr Gupta added that the treatment was recommendable for entire body as it was safe, quick and without any side-effect.
