PTU regional centre conducts campus interviews
Ludhiana, June 21 He told students about the kind of opportunities available in the market these days and the kind of projects the company was working on. It was followed by a one-to-one personal interview round in which he adjudged the students on the basis of their technical knowledge and their ability to solve problems. Mr Dipinder Singh Sekhon, Director emphasised that students also got practical exposure and it became an added advantage for them at a later stage when they completed their degrees. “We give our students an opportunity to face the interview the moment they are ready to go for a job. So it is a good thing that they utilise their time on job while they are still completing their degrees,” said Mr Harinder Pal Singh, zonal head of Quest Infosys. Ms Monika Dang, manager, Corporate Training and Placements, said four students had been shortlisted and there would be a final round next week. She added that there would be more such interviews for both IT as well as MBA students. Such campus interviews gave a chance to all students of the Distance Education Centre to participate and interact with the potential employees under one roof. |
200 get computer certificates
Mandi Gobindgarh, June 21 As many as 200 students performed cultural programme. Speaking on the occasion, Ms Shalini Gupta, director, said that the institute believed in maintaining social values for which it had been imparting free foundation courses in general English, communication skills, computer and personality development for the last three years to the young boys and girls so as to utilize their spare time. |

Avtar sparkles in Govt School’s win
Ludhiana, June 21 Batting first, Government Senior Secondary School made 244 runs for four in the allotted 30 overs. Avtar Singh scored 134 runs, inclusive of sixteen fours and two sixes. Lok Raj and Aman contributed 35 and 21 runs, respectively. Vipan Arora and Manpreet of SDP Senior Secondary School scalped one victim each conceding 47 and 52 runs, respectively. SDP School, in reply were all out for 188 runs in 27 overs. Vipan Arora top scored with 73 runs while Pardeep made 22 runs. For Government School, Nitin took four wickets for 30 runs while Avtar Singh and Lok Raj took claimed two wickets each for 19 and 23 runs, respectively. |
