Heat wave conditions continue to prevail in some parts of east Uttar Pradesh.

Rainfall: Rain/thundershowers have occurred at a few places in Jammu and Kashmir and at isolated places in east Rajasthan. Weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region. Raipur (east Rajasthan) has recorded 3 m of rainfall.

Temperature: Past 24 hours change: The maximum temperatures rose in Punjab and changed little elsewhere. Departure: This was markedly above normal in east Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal, appreciably above normal in west Uttar Pradesh, below normal in Jammu and Kashmir and normal in the rest of the region. the highest maximum temperature in the region was 45°C recorded at Bahraich and Sultanpur (Uttar Pradesh).

Forecast valid until the morning of June 17: Rain/thundershowers are likely at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab and Uttaranchal. Isolated duststorm/thunderstorm is likely in Haryana, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of June 17: Mainly clear sky with dust haze. Duststorm/thunderstorm accompanied with squall is likely in some areas during evening/night. The maximum temperature will be around 41 degrees Celsius.
