650 patients examined at two medical camps
Ludhiana, June 15 A team of doctors from Dayanand Medical College and Hospital comprising Dr Kamal Dua, Dr Shweta Gupta and Dr Renu Gupta examined the patients for respiratory disorders, gynaecological problems and gastro-intestinal diseases. Medicines were given to the free of cost. Inaugurating the camp, Mr Surinder Dawar, Parliamentary Secretary, Housing, Power and Urban Development, lauded the role played by voluntary organisations, clubs and other NGOs in this regard. Prominent among others present at the occasion were Mr Amit Sharma from German Remedies, Mr Parminder Mehta, general secretary, Punjab Pardesh Congress Committee, Mr Sushil Kumar Lucky, vice-president, District Youth Congress, Mr Vicky Mahajan, president, Bajwa Nagar Youth Club, Mr Billa Madan, Mr Jaspreet Singh, Mr Rajan, Mr Pawan Bains, and Mr Munish Mahajan. Meanwhile at a free eye check-up camp, organised by Urban Estate Welfare Council, Association for Democratic Rights and Shaheed Bhagat Singh Vichar Manch to mark the death anniversary of social activist Pradeep Singh Grewal at Gurdwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha in Urban Estate, more than 150 patients were examined by a medical team headed by Dr Sumeet Sukhi from Swami Vivekanand Jain Charitable Hospital. Free medicines were distributed among patients free of cost. Former Principal Hari Singh, Mr Balwinder Singh Bains, Mr Ram Parkash Bharti, Dr G. Awasthi, Director, Medical Services, Satguru Partap Singh Apollo Hospital, Mr Devinder Singh Bittu, councillor, Mr Darshan Singh, DPRO, Mr Kirpla Singh Kalra, Mr D.S. Pardhan, Mr Makhan Singh Khurana and Master Bhajan Singh were also present at the occasion. |
Free medical camp at SAS Grewal hospital
Ludhiana, June 15 According to Dr GS Grewal, the patients would be examined free of cost. Various medical investigations like the blood sugar and ECG would also be done free of cost. The camp will start at 9 a.m and will continue till 5 p.m in the evening, Dr Grewal said.

CL Malhotra cricket from June 19
Ludhiana, June 15 On the completion of first phase, a team comprising players of all the four local squads will be formed which will take part in the second phase of the tournament. Teams from all the districts of the state will take part in the second phase which begins on June 26. It has been named as Punjab State Inter-District Tournament and patronised by the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA). The matches of 40-overs will be played as per the PCA rules and conducted on knock-out basis. The winners as well as the runners-up along with members of all the participating teams will be given prizes, Mr Chitkara informed. |
