Heat wave conditions continue to prevail in some parts of east Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. It is likely to abate during the next two days.

Rain/thundershowers have been reported at a few places in Jammu and Kashmir and west Rajasthan and at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh and east Rajasthan. Weather was dry in the rest of the region. The chief amounts of rainfall in cm are: East Rajasthan: Dhambola 3, Aspur 2 and Mount Abu and Sagwara 1 each and West Rajasthan: Bikaner, Bhinmal, Lunkaransar and Sanchore 1 each.

This was markedly above normal in east Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal, appreciably above normal in west Uttar Pradesh, above normal in east Rajasthan, appreciably below normal in Jammu and Kashmir, below normal in Punjab and normal in the rest of the region. The highest maximum temperature in the region was 45.2°C recorded at Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh.
