United Club, Sonnet Club emerge victorious
Chandigarh, June 4 The Sonnet Club, also of Delhi, took just 14 balls to chase the target and registered a10-wicket win. It was Sonnet Club's third successive win in the pool B five-team league programme. In contrast, the United Club, Delhi, faced tough resistance from the Rashtriya Youth Club (Green Park, Delhi) in a Pool A encounter at DAV Senior Secondary School, Sector 8. The United Club bowled out the RYC for 149 with only four balls remaining. Vikas Mishra (4 for 11) and Ruhin (3 for 25) bowled the United Club to victory. Earlier, the United Club were all out for 164 in 24.3 overs. Vivek was their top scorer who made 50. Tarun and Baljit took two wickets each for 10 and 9 runs, respectively. The Gyan Bharti Academy, South Delhi, won their second Pool A league match from three outings as they defeated ICL Certifications Limited XI by seven wickets. ICLCL XI batted first and made119 for 7 in 25 overs The Gyan Bharti Academy achieved their target in 24 overs by scoring 121 for 3. Charanjit scored an unbeaten 42. Abhilash made 27. The Chetan Sharma Academy of Delhi had a smooth sailing in its match against St Lawrence, also of Delhi, in a pool B fixture. The Chetan Academy won by seven wickets. Chasing a target of 72 runs for victory, the Chetan Academy achieved the target in 13.5 overs. Rishab (23) and Divij (12 not out) were the principal scorers for the winners. Earlier, St Lawrence were bowled out for 71 in 21.3 overs. Only Rajesh (10) reached the double figure mark. Sidhant (3 for 7) and Tarun (3 for 26) bowled out St Lawrence for just 71 in 21.3 overs.
