Ludhiana, May 26
To protest against the suspension of Ghumar Mandi ITI Principal Tejinder Singh, various federations of ITIs held a demonstration at ITI here today.

The students said that government had suspended the Principal without any fault of his. The students alleged that the harsh step was taken against him as he dared to stop the bureaucrats and higher-ups to grab the prime land where ITI was situated.

“The Principal stopped the self-styled owners to vacate the land. He dared to voice against influential people who wanted to grab the land worth several crores of rupees. Recently, many attempts were made to vacate the land on the pretext of repairing the building by some politicians. But Mr Tejinder Singh strongly condemned it and said that repairing work could be done simultaneously, which ultimately resulted in his suspension”, alleged union leader Mr Navjot Dhoot.

Mr Rakesh Pandey, Minister of Industrial Training, was away to Chandigarh to inquire about the reasons for Principal’s suspension. He said that a show-cause notice had been served to the Principal and he had been suspended. “He must have been found guilty somewhere, so we suspended him”, said Mr Pandey.
