New Release
The two Bachchans act together

Master storyteller Yash Chopra has decided to do the in thing by making his banner a factory spawning new direction talent in a mixed fare like “Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi”, “Mujhse Dosti Karoge”, “Saathiya”, “Dhoom” and now “Bunty Aur Babli”.

The film opens today at Piccadilly, Chandigarh, Fun Republic and KC Panchkula. The promos of this film has caught on in a big way. Muzzaffar Ali’s son Shaad Ali (now Shaad Ali Sahgal) has attempted something different this time after a love story “Saathiya”.

This will be Shaad Ali’s second film after the refreshing “Saathiya” and it will be good to see how he has attempted a situational comedy. Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan act together for the first time. Rani Mukherjee is the heroine.

It will be interesting to see what the three stars’ combination brings up. The latest film from the Yash Raj banner “Bunty Aur Babli” promises to be a fun riot.

While it is a dream film for junior Bachchan, for Big B and Rani Mukherjee it is a prestigious banner and for Shaad Ali, who assisted Mani Ratnam for a few years, this could be second time lucky after dream debut in “Saathiya”.

Gulzaar has penned the lyrics for composer trio Shankar - Ehsaan - Loy. The music is also doing fairly well.

“Bunty Aur Babli,” the story of two avid dreamers, has been beautiful shot in 160 locations in and around the country. So king of Romance Yash Chopra and his banner call the shots once again with this fun film. — D.P.
