Rainfall: Weather was mainly dry over the region.

Temperature: Past 24 hours change: The maximum temperatures rose appreciably in Haryana, rose in Punjaband east Rajasthan and changed little elsewhere. Departure: They were markedly above normal in Jammu and Kashmir and west Rajasthan, appreciably above normal in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and east Rajasthan and normal in the rest of the region. The highest maximum temperature in the region was 41.9C recorded at Barmer (Rajasthan).

Forecast valid until the morning of April 8: Rain/thundershowers are likely at a few places in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir and at isolated places in Haryana, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal. Isolated squall is likely in Haryana and Punjab. Isolated duststorm/ thunderstorm is likely in west Rajasthan. Weather will be mainly dry in east Rajasthan.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of April 8: Mainly clear sky likely to become partly cloudy towards evening/night with possibility of thundry development/light rain accompanied with squall in some areas. The maximum temperature will be around 38C.

Farmers weather bulletin for Delhi forecast valid until the morning of April 8: Light rain is likely at a few places. Squall with wind speed exceeding 65 km.p.h. is likely at isolated places.

Outlook for the subsequent two days: No large change.
