Probe ordered in land grab case
Mohali, April 6 Devinder had met SSP, Surinder Pal Singh after her husband Sampuran Singh, brother-in-law Darbara Singh and son Ashwinder Singh were arrested on March 3. The three were arrested on a complaint of Vipin Kumar, a resident of Civil Lines, Fazilka, who had
alleged that the accused were removing barbed wires and pillars on a piece of land owned by him in Kansal
village. However, Devinder told the SSP that the land was jointly owned by her family and not Vipin. She added that she had original registries of the land to prove her case. She alleged that a former sarpanch of the village along with the Congress leader had encouraged Vipin to lodge a
false complaint against her family since they wanted to grab the land which was worth crores. The SSP, however, gave a clean chit to the Congress leader stating that Devinder had no proof against him. |
