Rainfall: Rain/snow has occurred at most places in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttaranchal. Rain/thundershowers have occurred at most places in Punjab, at many places in Haryana and west Uttar Pradesh and at isolated places in west Rajasthan. Weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region.

Temperature: Past 24 hours change: The maximum temperatures fell largely in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab, fell markedly in west Rajasthan, fell appreciably in Haryana, fell in Uttaranchal and changed little elsewhere.

Departure: These were above normal in east Rajasthan and east Uttar Pradesh, largely below normal in Punjab, markedly below normal in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, appreciably below normal in Haryana and west Rajasthan, below normal in Uttaranchal and normal in the rest of the region. The highest maximum temperature in the region was 39.2°C recorded at Jhalawar (Rajasthan).

Past 24 hours change: The minimum temperatures fell markedly in Himachal Pradesh and Punjab, fell appreciably in Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttaranchal, fell in west Rajasthan and changed little elsewhere.

Departure: They were below normal in Himachal Pradesh and Punjab, appreciably above normal in east Rajasthan, above normal in east Uttar Pradesh and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest minimum temperature in the plains was 10.2°C recorded at Adampur (Punjab).

Forecast valid-until the morning of March 24: Rain/snow will occur at many places in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttaranchal. Rain/thundershower is likely at a few places in Haryana, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh and at isolated places in east Rajasthan. Isolated hailstorm/squall is likely in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh.

Heavy rainfall warning: Isolated heavy rain/snow is likely in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttaranchal during the next 48 hours.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of March 24: Partly cloudy sky with possibility of light rain/thundershower accompanied with squall in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures will be around 31°C and 18°C, respectively. Farmers’ weather bulletin for Delhi forecast valid until the morning of March 24: Light rain is likely at a few places. Squall with wind speed exceeding 65 km/h is likely at isolated places.

Outlook for the subsequent two days: No large change.
