Amritsar
CAMP: About 400 patients attended a medical camp organised at the All-India Women's Conference (AIWC) premises here on Sunday. The camp was organised in collaboration with doctors of Fortis Hospital. Medicines were provided free of cost to patients.

Batala
BAN ORDER: Mr Vivek Pratap Singh, Deputy Commissioner, Gurdaspur, has issued an order prohibiting the assembly of five or more persons at public places. Processions and rallies have also been banned. The order will remain in force till May 18.

Hoshiarpur
CASES: The police has registered five cases under different sections of the NDPS Act and three cases under the Excise Act. According to police sources, the city and Sadar police have arrested Jatinder Kumar and Sanjiv Kumar, both of Bassi Khawaju, and seized three gm each of smack from them.

Phillaur
GANG OF THIEVES: The police has bursted a three-member gang of thieves and recovered one VCR, one DVD, five CD changers and several CDs from them. The arrested thieves were identified as Ajay and Deepak of Goraya and Shiv Paul of Rampur in Uttar Pradesh.

COLLEGE FUNCTION: Annual prize distribution function of Government College was held today. The function was presided over by officiating Principal, Dr Brahm Dutt. Students were awarded for distinction in academic, literary and cultural fields.
