Rainfall: Rain/thundershowers have occurred at isolated places in Jammu and Kashmir. Weather was dry in the rest of the region.

Temperature: Past 24 hours change: The maximum temperatures rose in east Rajasthan and changed little elsewhere.

Departure: They were markedly above normal in west Rajasthan, appreciably above normal in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and east Rajasthan, above normal in Haryana, west Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal and normal in the rest of the region. The highest maximum temperature in the region was 38°C recorded at Jhalawar (Rajasthan).

Past 24 hours change: The minimum temperatures rose in Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab and east Rajasthan and changed little elsewhere.

Departure: They were markedly above normal in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, and west Rajasthan, appreciably above normal in Haryana, east Rajasthan and Uttaranchal, above normal in Uttar Pradesh. The lowest minimum temperature in the plains was 15.1°C recorded at Udaipur city (Rajasthan).

Forecast valid until the morning of March 18: Rain or thundershowers are likely at a few places in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir and at isolated places in Uttaranchal. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of March 18: Partly cloudy sky. The maximum and minimum temperatures will be around 32°C and 18°C, respectively.

Farmers weather bulletin for Delhi forecast valid until the morning of March 18: Sky will be partly cloudy.

Outlook for the subsequent two days: No large change.
