Great demand for cricket match tickets
Tribune News Service

Mohali, February 26
The India-Pakistan Test series can evoke passions and it was evident today. Cricket fans were seen waiting for hours as the sale of tickets for Indo-Pak test series started today. Match at the Punjab Cricket Stadium, starts will on March 8.

On the first day 4000 tickets were sold. However, there would be no sale of tickets tomorrow. It would resume on Monday.

Sale of tickets started from this morning at one ICICI counter set up at PCA as only a few thousand tickets were there for sale this morning, said Mr G.S. Walia, Treasurer, PCA. Rest of the tickets will be available by Monday and be sent to all branches of ICICI Bank for sale, he said.

The tickets have been printed but the embossing of holograms and stamping is being carried out.

General block tickets and tickets for students at reduced rate drew massive response as most people were demanding tickets for these two categories.

PCA officials seemed happy with the response on the first day as they were worried earlier as the dates of test match would clash with the exams of students which could effect the sale of tickets. “People were purchasing tickets for full five days and if we would be able to sell these all before the match then there would be no gate sale counters on match days”, asserted Mr Walia. No decision has not been taken yet on the distribution of passes, he said.

Parents ofcourse will have a tough time in controlling children. Mr Jagdish Arora of phase X said it would definitely affect study of children.
