Rainfall: Rain/snow has occurred at many places in Uttaranchal and at a few places in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir. Rain/thundershowers have occurred at most places in east Uttar Pradesh. Weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region. The chief amounts of precipitation in cms. are: Himachal Pradesh: Kumarsain 2 and Dehragopipur 1, East Uttar Pradesh: Gorakhpur and Sultanpur 2 each and Bahraich 1 and Uttaranchal: Mukteshwar 1.

Temperatures: Past 24 hours change: Minimum temperatures fell in Haryana, east Rajasthan and Uttaranchal and changed little elsewhere. Departures: They were below normal in Punjab and Rajasthan, appreciably above normal in east Uttar Pradesh, above normal in west Uttar Pradesh and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 2°C recorded at Amritsar.

Forecast valid until the morning of February 3: Rain/snow is likely at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttaranchal. Rain/thundershowers are likely at isolated places in east Uttar Pradesh. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of February 3: Mainly clear sky. Strong surface winds likely during day time. Mist in the morning. Minimum temperature will be around 6°C.
