Rainfall: Rain/snow has occurred at a few places in Himachal Pradesh and Uttaranchal. Rain/thundershowers have occurred at a few places in Punjab and Uttar Pradesh and at isolated places in Haryana and West Rajasthan. Weather was largely dry in the rest of the region. Rampur Bushahar (Himachal Pradesh) recorded 1 cm of rainfall.

Departures: Past 24 hours change: Minimum temperatures fell in East Rajasthan, rose appreciably in Punjab and East Uttar Pradesh, rose in Haryana and Himachal Pradesh and changed little elsewhere. Departures: They were appreciably above normal in Haryana, and East Uttar Pradesh, above normal in Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, West Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 1°C recorded at Amritsar (Punjab).

Forecast valid until the morning of January 19: Rain/snow will occur at many places in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir and at a few places in Uttaranchal. Rain/thundershowers are likely at a few places in Haryana, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh and at isolated places in the rest of the region.
