Minimum temperatures rose appreciably in Haryana, Punjab and east Uttar Pradesh, rose in east Rajasthan and Uttaranchal and changed little elsewhere. Departures: They were largely above normal in Rajasthan, markedly above normal in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Utaranchal, appreciably above normal in Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab and west Uttar Pradesh and above normal in east Uttar Pradesh. The lowest temperature in the plains was 5.0°C recorded at Amritsar (Punjab).
