In another court Rajasthan girls were playing against the Punjab team. But Rajasthani coaches felt that they were not getting a fair deal as the two referees were from Punjab. Mr Girdhari Singh and Mr Nand Kishore from Rajasthan felt that referees from other states should have been deployed . When officials were asked about this, they said: “Organisers have nothing to do with it . Referees have been deployed by the School Games Federation of India (SGFI) beforehand.”

Girls from Chhattisgarh had come to Punjab earlier and were happy to be back once again. But one of them said, “We are not given any quilt but a ‘dari’ on such a cold night. We managed with blankets that we had brought from home. We are hoping that we will get quilts tonight. We are 36 girls in our team. But there is only one bathroom and two latrines. We wish there were more. But we are happy with the food for it is different and more delicious.”

The boys and girls were all in excitement for the formal opening of the games tomorrow.
