High prices dim shoppers’ spirit

D
IVALI shopping has been low key this year as compared to previous years. Shopkeepers ascribes this partly to the recent hike in petrol and diesel prices which had already burnt a hole in the pocket of the consumer. High prices of most consumer goods, despite the discounts have also kept potential buyers away from the market. The prices of crackers and dry fruits have gone up by 10 per cent as compared to the last year. Some of the new type of crackers this year are also costly.
