Governor for roads of concrete
Chandigarh, October 22 At a coordination meeting, he said the Engineering Department must put a proposal to make the existing roads of concrete instead of bitumen due to low maintenance and long life. He said though concrete technology was three time costlier than the bitumen one, there was no maintenance involved for five to 10 years. The department will provide a study as to how many services like water supply lines, sewers and storm water drainage lines will need to be shifted to make it feasible Justice Verma also asked the Chandigarh Housing Board to ensure that before handing over dwelling units to allottees, all services should be provided to them. The matter had come up after Sector 51 allottees complained of no services. It was informed at the meeting that the draw of lots of 240 EWS Houses in the Industrial Phase-I had been completed and the dwelling units would be allotted in November. |
